Cotton-Spandex 2.0 at Ergowear: The natural option

For over two decades we have been real evangelizers of synthetic fibers for underwear. There are many reasons for this – and a few years ago we decided to drop the MAX Premium line, the only product we were still making in cotton. Until we recently found a fabric that was love at first sight and we couldn’t resist giving cotton a new chance! Cotton-Spandex 2.0 at Ergowear: The natural option.

MAX Cotton is incredibly soft on your skin

The new cotton-elasthane at Ergowear is made with super-light weight fibers that feel extremely soft when you touch them. Below is a close-up of the fabric. Look at the beautiful regular weave pattern that holds the fibers together to form a silky fabric. And better still: An invisible elasthane fiber is blended in to make the fabric resilient when you pull in any direction.  

Cotton is hypoallergenic 

Some men have very sensitive skin and easily develop mild irritation or even rashes. Cotton is among the least allergenic fabrics and can usually be worn safely by those individuals, even if it contains a minimal amount of Spandex for elasticity. 

Moisture absorbtion when required

Unlike most synthetic fibers, cotton can absorb excessive moisture and temporarily store it so that your skin feels dryer. In previous articles – and as part of our campaign in favor of artificial fibers – we have argued that moisture-wicking is better than moisture-absorbing. However, to be fair, it’s part of an old dispute, and there are situations in which either property can be advantageous. For those of you who prefer excess moisture to be contained rather than expelled, MAX Cotton is the perfect choice. It’s the way to go! 

A classic and sophisticated look&feel 

Cotton in underwear often makes us all think of rugged and heavy vintage underwear, like our forefathers most likely used because they didn’t have any better options. This fabric couldn’t be more different from its distant cousin. It’s feather-light and soft as any silky fabric you may already know. But cotton has that classic flair attached to it. This is why the re–launch was made in our best selling styles – boxers, bikinis, thongs and midcuts.
