Indulge Your Passion in Green Style
Do you know what the color of the year is? Do you know there even is a color of the year distinction?
Granted by the Pantone Color Institute, the color of the year accolade aims to capture the spirit of the times through a yearly color pick.
Out of the vast palette of tones and shades, this year the kudos went to ‘Greenery‘ as it encompasses a “refreshing and revitalising shade (of green), symbolic of new beginnings“, in the words of Pantone Color Institute’s Executive Director.
Greenery was also picked because it reflects our attitudes and feelings towards modern life, where threats to nature abound and technological landscapes often asphyxiate humans.
And there couldn’t be a more appropriate catalyst for Pantone’s laurel than St Patricks Day, the day where we get to drink endless pints of Guinness while wearing a green wig.
Well, that and of course the very meaning of the celebration as a symbol of emergence, harmonic unity and pride.
